Thank God For Friends!

I know that I am posting again but I just wanted to say that I am very thankful for my friend Mika! Tonight we went to Wal-Mart to get a gift for a couple at our church and then went by Jack In The Box to get a coke. We sat in the parking lot at JITB for over an hour and had the best talk. It is so nice to be able to have a conversation with another woman. She is a great person and I love talking with her. Somehow we always get into these deep conversations but we also laugh together. Then to top it off we prayed together. That is what I call a great friendship! There is nothing like friendships that are real! Love you girlfriend!

I Am Going To Win This Battle!

Last night Tyson cooked shepherds pie. If you have never had it--it consists of hamburger meat mixed with any vegetable (he chose peas, green peppers and green beans) and then it has mashed potatoes on top with melted cheese. It is really good. Well anyway, Winston decided that he didn't want to eat his dinner because he just can't stand vegetables. He picked around at it and tried dipping just the meat into ranch. Well I decided that he really needed to learn to eat what is fixed and most importantly to eat something besides JUNK! He is the worst eater. So I told him that he had to eat what was on his plate. Well let me just say that did not set well with Mr. WC. He growled at me. So I looked at him with the mother glare and sent him to his room. While he was in his room, he kept growling(which is really comical if you are not a part of the battle) and then started throwing his pillows. I was so shocked by his behavior. I could see Wyatt acting like this but not Winston. I calmly walked into his room and told him that I didn't appreciate the way he was acting and that he wouldn't be able to go to the swim party that was later on in the evening. Oh boy did he go crazy. I then asked him what I had done to make him act this way--of course he couldn't tell me. All I wanted him to do was eat his dinner. Well to make a long story short--he finally calmed down and decided to finish his dinner. You should have seen it. He put about a cup of ranch on the shepherds pie and then gagged and shook his head with every bite. BUT guess what? I won this battle because he cleaned his plate. I did allow him to go to the party, which I still am debating about with myself, but I felt bad punishing Wyatt when he ate his dinner. (Ty was taking pictures) I tell you this parenting stuff can be tricky--I can't wait to see what dinner is like tonight!

Lake Trip Number Two!

Well, we survived another week at the Lake. The boys had a blast. I seem a little more tired with each trip, why is that? Going somewhere for the weekend is not an easy task. You pack, unpack, pack back up and then unpack when you get home. All I did was pack and unpack. The joys of traveling! Here are some highlights from the adventure!
The boys had their first outdoor shower! Oh Fun!

True Brotherly Love, Oh Brother!

They love to go for rides on the Sea Doo ( I don't know if I spelled that right)

Winston would have me call out an animal and then he would jump of the dock like he was that animal! Here he is being some kind of bird--but I don't remember what!

This is our friends son chillin' in the water!

1,2,3 JUMP!

Couldn't resist showing off those beautiful blue eyes!

Winston is a fish! He would stay in the water all day if we would just stay there and watch him!

Kung Fu Excitment!

Yesterday I took the boys to see Kung Fu Panda. They were so excited to go. I left the store early and picked Wyatt up from daycare. We took two pillows, so they could sit on them and bought the biggest popcorn and diet coke they sold. By the time the movie had started the popcorn and coke was half gone. Those boys like popcorn--I helped a little. It was a cute movie and the boys seemed to enjoy it. Wyatt talked through the whole thing asking questions like, "When are they are going to fight?" or "He's not being nice, right mommy?" Winston just sat there with a smile on his face and laughed at all the right parts. Towards the end I had to take Wyatt to the potty twice so I missed the very last scene. Winston had to tell me how it ended--Wyatt didn't care.
After the movies we went to Hastings to buy the first four books in the Magic Tree House series. Winston's summer school teacher told me about them and they sounded great. We started reading them yesterday and Winston didn't want to stop. He is so into them that he begged me to read one more chapter. We only have about 3 or 4 chapters left so tonight we will finish the first book. I really enjoy reading chapter books to him--it is a great time to cuddle!

Gobstopper Stop Please!

I need some help! I cannot stop eating Gobstoppers. I have them at work, at home beside my bed, and next to my computer. They are taking over my life. About a month ago a friend of mine brought some to a class Ty and I were taking, on Wednesday nights at church, and ever since then I have had the Gobstoppper Bug. Even when I don't want them I put one in my mouth (like right now)! I am crying out for help--I need a Gobstopper Intervention!

See what I mean--I think it is an addiction!

Lake Fun!

We a had a great weekend at the lake! The boys had so much fun. Here are some pics from the weekend.
Look at this face--He is so stickin' cute! But he is a MESS!!!
This is our friend Lad, he is surfing behind his boat! Can you believe that?

Tyson and Kevin had to try it out! They used a rope to hang on, of course! They both need a little more practice but Ty did say it was fun!

Look at these two little fish! They were actually getting along right here :)!!!!

Wyatt is taking the plunge!

Boats can put those little ones to sleep!

Trying to catch some fish! Which he did catch a lot--I had to bait his hook with live worms, yuck! I guess that is in the job description of being a mom with boys!

This is my favorite picture of the whole weekend! This is such a precious boy! He swam like he was never going to get to swim again!

Ty took this on Saturday when he woke up! This was our view from our trailer--isn't it beautiful!

Texoma Here We Come!

Today we are going to the lake. The boys can hardly stand it. They have been driving us crazy asking, "How many more days till we go?" Our good friends own a marina on lake Texoma and are kind enough to let us come and use all their toys and dock. The boys love it! It really is the perfect place to go and let boys be boys. Our friends son,GB, loves for the boys to be there too. They are all around the same age and they just swim, fight, eat, fight, ride in golf cart, fight, play and then fight some more. They are like brothers. I feel blessed that we have such great friends. This family has been in our lives for a long time and I couldn't ask for better friends. They truly are what I would call "givers"! You know the kind of people that just give without even thinking twice. That is them!
Also, my in-laws just bought a new travel trailer and they are allowing us to use it. I feel bad because they haven't even tried it out yet. I am so thankful that they are letting us do that because I love going to the lake but I am not a "camper"! I want to be able to go to a place and cool down but most importantly I want to use the restroom in private. It is a really nice trailer. I pray that nothing happens to it, on our watch.
Well, I am off to work but I will post pics of our adventure when we get back!

A Visit From Lexie!

My niece came and spent the night with us Tuesday night! I loved having her around. She loves and I mean LOVES working at the store. My brother got a divorce about 10 years ago and since that time I really don't get to see my beautiful nieces very much. They live about three hours away(or at least that is how far Lexie said it was) with their mom so the times I see them are slim. When my brother was married to their mom (my other niece is 3 years older then Lexie) we all lived in the same town--so I saw them all the time. I loved getting to be a part of their lives. They were the most precious little girls and such a big part of my life. There usually wasn't a day that I didn't go see them or talk to them on the phone. Then the divorce happened. Divorce is STINKY! It changed everything. Their mom remarried and they moved away and the days of getting to spend quality time with them was gone. I used to get really sad about it--but it is just a part of life. Since both my brother and their mom have remarried the girls have a ton of family who adore them. But for me, and this is me being selfish, I miss them being here with me! Now I have to share--and I do mean share because I see them probably 3 times a year. I feel like I have missed their childhood. Why does divorce have to be so rotten? When people get divorced I don't think they realize how it affects all family members, especially when children are involved. Anyway, Lexie was a joy to have and I know that she is happy. Her mother has done a great job raising her and my brother is a good dad. He loves them very much--so I know if I feel this and I am their aunt--then I know he has truly missed being with them on a daily basis. Well I have rambled enough. Thank you sweet Jesus for giving me that special time with her--it meant the world to me!

Happy Birthday My Baby!

Dear Wyatt,

Today is your 4th birthday! Where has the time gone? You are growing so fast. From the moment you were born you have had a mind of your own. You are what some would call a "strong willed child" but I prefer to say that you are confident. Being your mother these past four years has been an adventure. Here are some things about you!
*You love being a cowboy. You think you are a real cowboy! Sometimes it really wears me out because you only want to wear boots, wranglers, button up shirts, and a belt. BUT that is who you are.
*You are a great eater. You usually will try anything--especially if it makes you look tough.
*You love your Pa and Papa. You talk about them alot and really enjoy being in the presence.
*Your best friend is your brother. You guys do bicker some--but most of the time you are best buds.
*You either wake up in a really, really good mood--or you are just plain mad. If you are mad everyone just has to get out of your way!
*You love to watch John Wayne movies.
*When you fall and bang yourself up--you tell people that a bull did it!
*You can make the best realistic horse sound I have ever heard. It is really loud!
*When you get mad sometimes you say that the devil is in your heart. Which usually follows with a good mouth washin.
*You say, "I love mommy, I love daddy, I love Winston, I love everyone in the whole
wide world!"
Wyatt you are a blessing and I love you very much! Happy Fourth Birthday!

Love, Mommy

Carnival Fun!

Saturday we celebrated Wyatt's 4th Birthday with a carnival party! It really was a lot of fun! Below are some pics of the big day. And yes Wyatt dressed up as a clown--but it had to be...you guessed it--a rodeo clown! Go figure!

What a sweet boy! I can't believe that he is 4!
